This site was developed entirely with XHTML 1.0 Strict and Cascading Style Sheets Specification 2. As a result almost all of the presenation and HTML code have been seperated. The site is completely Open Source and makes extensive use of PHP and Apache and is hosted on a cheap Linux server.
Why Linux and not OS/400? Simply for my own learning experience. I've already got a successful website running RPG CGI on the AS/400 and this gave me a chance to do something different. Also, using PHP allowed me to experiment with some very cool modular site architectures. Most pages and divs are self contained code blocks reused in a series of require statments. The combination of this and CSS makes site wide changes quick and painless.
